PROFESSIONAL ​INFO​​

I currently work as a freelance editor, writer and translator. My native language is English and I also speak and write fluent German. I enjoy travelling, writing and reading and am a keen cyclist and white water kayaker. I have visited numerous foreign countries and I have travelled extensively in Europe, America and Africa. I have also spent time living and working in New York and Ireland.

Freelance editorial assistent for editorial Office van Uffelen

Editorial Office van Uffelen works with a range of publishing houses to produce high-quality books in English that focus on the subjects of architecture, design and art.

Main tasks undertaken include:
• Writing and editing texts for publication in English
• Translation and updating English version of company website
• Research for relevant projects to be published in the books
• Translation of texts (German to English)
• Graphic layout and image editing, working with the programme „In Design“

Freelance translation work from German to English. Work spectrum includes magazines such as 'In Bloom' Austria, news and blog articles for the University of Stuttgart, newspaper articles and advertisements.

Freelance journalist for The Pink Paper, London

Launched in 1987, the Pink Paper is a politically focused weekly paper covering news, politics and events happening across the UK and focuses on a political more than an entertainment agenda.
Position involved:
• Writing four news stories every week primarily from the West Midlands area
• Finding relevant news stories and following up leads
• Interviewing people
• Writing to deadlines
